James Darryl Wrest

James Darryl Wrest, of Wright City, MO, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the age of 84. Loving husband of the late Eileen Wrest; beloved son of the late Albert and Marge; devoted father of Renee (Judith) Wrest and Darryl J. (Michelle) Wrest; cherished grandfather of Sabrina Wrest and Collin Wrest; treasured great-grandfather of Sofia and Kaiden; and loving companion of Carol Houdyshell. Jim is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittany Wrest Killgore.

Jim led a life marked by dedication, service, and a passion for all things automotive. Having served in the United States Navy until 1962, he transitioned to a fulfilling career at Mitsubishi Motors, where he worked until retirement. Jim's had an undeniable love for restoring cars and anything with a motor. Beyond his mechanical pursuits, Jim was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment with his loved ones. His soft spot for animals, especially his beloved cats, reflected his kind and nurturing nature. James will be remembered not just for his professional accomplishments but for the warmth he brought to those around him. Dearly loved, he leaves behind a legacy that will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Memorials may be made in Jim’s name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
