Memorials may be made to Wings of Hope, 18590 Edison Ave., Chesterfield, MO 63005 (www.wings-of-hope.org). Mrs. Janet Regot, age 72, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Newton, Iowa on March 17, 1937. Mother Florence Conwell, father Russell Lowell Cobbs, brother Russell Landon Cobbs, and husband Tom Regot preceded Jan in death. Her true enjoyment in life was her family of two kids, their spouses, and her five grandchildren; son Barr, his wife Theresa and their kids, Taylor, Justin, and Evan; daughter Janee, husband Adam and their kids Lauren and Jillian; and a dear heartfelt comfort from best friend Dan Curtis. Jan was a strong woman with a straightforward and understanding personality that had enriched the lives of those she knew. Her relationships with friends and families were many and heartfelt. Mrs. Regot received her Bachelor of Art from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She attended Northeast Missouri State University and received her Masters Degree in Secondary School Administration. Mrs. Regot was in the Francis Howell School District starting as a Francis Howell High School (FHHS) teacher in 1963. By 1978, Mrs. Regot became the first female Administrator at FHHS, paving the way for women in all roles of education. A true believer in quality education for all, Jan started a program for At Risk students, co-sponsored by Don Tomlinson called Core. Eventually, through many programs, Union High School came into existence. Both Mrs. Regot and Mr. Tomlinson were primarily responsible for all the At Risk students with continuing their high school education and achieving their diploma. Jan was a joy to be around and a pleasure to have learned from. Her path in life was that of a true educator of whom so many have benefited. She has now advanced into her next enlightenment in an existence with God in which she firmly believed. After the Memorial Service at Baue, a remembrance and celebration of her life will be held at Jan's home and all are invited to attend.
