Janie “Nan” Klusmeyer (nee Tieman), of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the age of 82, after a fall. She was born on January 24, 1937 in Concordia, Missouri to Louis and Matilda Tieman. She was raised in Boonville, Missouri, where she graduated from Boonville High School with honors in Art. On July 21, 1956 she married Herbert Klusmeyer, Jr. with whom she had two children, Kim and Jim. Herb and Janie spent most of their married life in St. Charles, Missouri, where they raised their children. Herb passed away in 1978 at the age of 41, and Janie stayed faithful to her marriage.
Janie was a talented artist who enjoyed painting with watercolors and oils. She loved to plant flowers, especially PINK ones. She was a wonderful seamstress who made her own wedding dress and all of the bridesmaid dresses. She also looked forward to reading her daily newspaper so she could share the news with her daughter Kim. As her faith was a great strength in her life, her Bible was one thing she loved to read every day.
Janie was preceded in death by her husband, Herb Klusmeyer; her parents, Louis and Tillie Tieman; her siblings, Mildred Koepke (Victor) Koepke, Leslie (Maxine) Tieman, Lloyd (Lee) Tieman, and her infant brother, Leroy Tieman; and her son-in-law, Fred Wheeler.
Janie is survived by her children, Kim Wheeler and James (Cynthia) Klusmeyer; her grandchildren, Amanda Wheeler, Jimmy Wheeler, Cassie (Austin) Brown; and her cherished nieces and nephews.
Today and every day, she will be remembered for her true beauty, strength and wisdom, her hearty laugh, her gracious and generous heart, her strong faith in God, and by everything PINK! Pink flowers, pink clothes, pink lipstick… she is our ‘Lady in Pink’ and she will be forever in our hearts.
