Jean Marie Vieth (nee Odelehr) was the wife of the late Edwin F. Vieth and beloved sister of the late John Odelehr, Sr. Catherine Odelehr, C.D.P., and Edward Odelehr. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Louise (Odelehr) Vitale and Julia (Odelehr) Slattery, sister- in- law Dorothy (Wieners) Odelehr, 30 nieces and nephews, their children and cousin.
Jean was a ground-breaking professional businesswoman who entered the world of banking in the 1950s. She had a long career tenure with Pulaski Savings and Loan and was the founding Vice President and Treasurer of Central West End Savings and Loan, a key player in the revitalization of the Central West End in the 1980s. After retiring from the banking industry, Jean worked in the Accounting Department at Ameristar Casino and ended her working career at Dierberg’s.
Jean was a constant presence in the lives of the Odelehr, Vitale, and Slattery children, attending camping trips, holiday events, and celebrations of the holy sacraments. Later in life, she greatly enjoyed casino bus trips with family members of all generations. She was a caring and wonderful person who could always be counted on for sound advice and lively discussions on current events. While she will be greatly missed by all, we take joy knowing she is reunited with her husband, parents, siblings John, Catherine, Edward and nephew Joseph Vitale.
