Jean Barbier Shryock, a beloved wife, mother, and friend to many, passed away surrounded by her family on October 4th. For 39 wonderful years, she was the devoted wife of Bill, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Jean’s career took her across the U.S. and abroad, where she managed facilities with unwavering dedication and precision. With an incredible memory and a knack for storytelling, Jean never forgot a detail and could turn any experience into a captivating, often humorous tale. She was known for bringing fun into every room she entered and for being a guiding light to those around her. Jean had no enemies, only people who admired her positivity, compassion, and boundless energy.
She was especially proud of her son, Charlie Shryock whose resilience and determination helped him over come personal challenges. Today, he is a testament to her un wavering love and support, and he continues to do well, carrying forward the lessons she instilled in him.
A self-described “Fixer,” Jean found joy in helping others, whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or practical solutions. She was beautiful inside and out, and her presence radiated warmth and unconditional love. Her passion for music, especially rock and roll, was infectious, and she could often be found singing along to her favorite songs.
Jean’s love, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, love, and a reminder to find humor in even the smallest moments of life. Jean’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers donate blood, platelets and be the match. GIVE LIFE.
