Jeffrey Allen Borgmeyer, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the age of 58. Beloved son of the late James and Betty Borgmeyer; cherished brother of Colleen (Michael Mifsud) Clarke, Michael (Ardene) Clarke, and Patrick (Debbie) Clarke; treasured uncle of Nathan (Avery Hendrixson) Mifsud, Matthew (MaryAnn) Clarke, Michelle (Ned) Endler, Jason Clarke, and Meaghan (Greg) Anderson; and cherished great-uncle of Ben, Kyle, Haley, Jack, and Luke.
Jeffrey lived most of his adult life in Kansas City at the Community of The Good Shepherd in a group home, with frequent family visits. The staff there were his extended family. He loved his job, and he enjoyed all the activities he did with his friends. He was very social and made friends everywhere he went.
Jeffrey was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America, and he valued his service. He received the Vigil Honor for Tamegonit Lodge, which is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members for service to Lodge, Council, and Scouting. The Vigil Honor is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position of office to one or more of the following: Lodge, Order of the Arrow, Scouting community, Scout Camp. Jeffrey was also known by his Native American name, Patriotic Brother.
Jeffrey was a true Chief’s fan and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan as well. He loved the outdoors and watching eagles soar through the sky. He also enjoyed listening to country music with his friends. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
