Jerald had 4 grandchildren; Cody Meyer (Betty Meyer), Carson Meyer, Anastasia Denzmore and Isabella Holtmeyer and 1 great grandson; Blake Meyer, all of which he is survived by. He is also survived by numerous extended friends and family.
Jerald was a loving husband, father and grandpa. Anyone that knew Jerry knew he was a kind soul and a classic car lover. If he was not spending time with his family, he was in his “garage” tinkering on his or someone else’s car. He followed his passion and worked his entire career at General Motors. He was a proud UAW member. He started his career at the Corvette plant in St. Louis, He eventually trasferred to the Wentzville GM plant when they first opened, which is where he retired from. He worked at General Motors for a total of 40.5 years.
Jerald fought a hard battle after having a stroke in 2013. He had spent the last three years at Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in O’Fallon MO. Throughout his journey at Delmar Gardens, he just wanted to come home and be with his family. He was very persistent from day 1 of being there, that he just wanted to come home again. We are so blessed that we were able to grant him that wish. Little did we know that it was going to be 6 short days that he was at home. It was an honor for us to keep him comfortable and to be with him at the time of his passing. After many years of suffering, he is now at peace with the Lord and reunited with the love of his life, Linnie.
He will be missed and loved by many.
