Jerry McMullen of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday August 15, 2018, at the age of 59 from fatal injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. Cherished son of the late Frank B. McMullen Sr. and Helen Geraldine McMullen; devoted best friend of Eva McMullen; loving brother of Joyce (the late Lloyd) Dixon, the late Frank B. (Edie) McMullen Jr., Bill (Charlotte) McMullen, Judy Shives, and Ken (Sandra) McMullen; dearly treasured uncle of Helen McMullen, Thomas (Norma) Dixon, Barbara (Timmy) Perkins, Frank B (Jennifer) McMullen lll, Jason McMullen, Jessica (Brian) Burns, Kelli (Michael) Ransford, Kristina McMullen, Katie McMullen, Bill McMullen ll, Brittany McMullen, Bryan McMullen, Ernie Washburn Jr., Carrie Washburn, the late Cheyenne Shives, James (Michelle) McMullen, Tamera (Sean) McMullen, and Austin McMullen.
Jerry was born on Sunday, August 9, 1959 where he was a lifelong resident of St. Charles, MO. Jerry graduated from Francis Howell High School in 1979. In his teenage years, Jerry worked as a dish washer at Noah’s Ark, later accepting a position delivering newspapers for the St. Louis Post Dispatch for which he worked for the past 32 years. Jerry was known as your true paperboy. Jerry’s hobbies include: boating, fishing listening to the baseball game, riding dirt bikes, riding motorcycles, car shows, collecting cassette tapes/8 tracks, bingo and playing Uno.
His biggest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews which he saw as his own honorary children. When spending time with his nieces and nephews, he would take them to his favorite place to eat which was Ponderosa. Jerry also enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to their swimming lessons, bowling, the zoo, the science center, baseball practice, to the library, and even girl scout meetings. Jerry has a heart of gold and had an unconditional love for his best friend Eva. He was her second half for the past 16+ years. Jerry was also a wonderful caregiver as he looked after his best friend Eva, along with his parents. Jerry was always willing to help those in need despite their flaws, beliefs or addictions. Jerry was always giving advise to nieces and nephews to secure their futures. Jerry also had a love for all animals including his dog named Tasha and his nephew’s German Shepard, Destiny even though he was allergic to dogs. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
