In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be made to the American Lung Association and the Second Wind Lung Transplant Association in the name of the deceased. Jerry Mildred Schulte (nee: McCallister) affectionately known as Short Boss. Devoted and gentle spirited mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at age 68, on December 17, 2005 surrounded by her family at home. Jerry had waged an inspirational and valiant fight against emphysema for many years only to finally succumb to cancer. She was always unrelentingly optimistic, had a captivating smile, and kind words for all. She left an unselfish touch on the world around her. Born on September 28, 1937 in St. Louis, MO to Marion and Alva Bernice McCallister. She is survived by her two loving sisters and brothers in-law: Doris and Tony DiCarlo and Gloria and Tony Lumia and brother, Glen Petro; She is also survived by her six children and 16 grandchildren who were an endless source of her joy: Tina, David, Amanda, Anna and Adrienne Hallemeier; Timothy, Lee Ann, Christopher, Steven and Heather Schulte; Torie, David, Jennifer and Matthew Hunn; Tammy, Russell, Andrew, Jill, Aaron and Megan Rothermich; Tracey, Steve, Rebecca, Ryan and Reid Hermann; and Thomas, Erin and Delaney Schulte.
