Jim Farkas of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away at the age of 89 on Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Elizabeth Farkas; and two grandchildren, Jessica Beaver and Matthew Farkas.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Aurelia Farkas; his children, Stephen (Mary) Farkas and Linda (John) Beaver; his grandchildren, Sarah (Robert) Thorsness, Michael (Kristen) Beaver, and Melissa Farkas; and his great-grandchildren, Annabelle Thorsness and Lydia Thorsness.
For over twenty five years, Jim was a faithful parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and prided himself on the friendships he made in the organization and the good work they did. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army and remained involved with the American Legion.
As a young man, Jim was fond of bowling and loved to spend time with his friends. He was a world traveler who made many exciting memories at the destinations he visited with his wife. Jim had a welcoming personality and truly never met a stranger. Family was always the most important thing for Jim and there wasn’t a thing he wouldn’t do for his beloved family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
