Jim (James V.) Timmerberg, of Wentzville, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the age of 78. the son of the late Arthur and Mary Timmerberg. The beloved husband of 57 years to Linda A. Timmerberg. The devoted father of Greg (Janet) Timmerberg, Vince A. Timmerberg, Amanda L. (Armando) Morales, cherished grandfather of Vince's children: Taylor, Cameron and Kaleb; and Amanda's children: Jacob, Asher, Landon, Allianna, Sophia, and Bella. A treasured great-grandfather of Beckham. A dear brother of Marilyn (the late John) Sherwood, Bill (Janet) Timmerberg, and Dick (Marlene) Timmerberg; brother-in-law of Irene (the Late Don) Eloff, Gerry (the late Cliff ) Derrington, Claudette (Mike) Bennick, the late Wanda (the late Bob ) Hill, and the late Alene (the Late Dave) Robinson; beloved Uncle, Cousin and friend to many.
Jim proudly served as a lineman in the United States Army. Jim’s career with McDonnell Douglas spanned four decades. He retired in 1996 as the Superintendent of the tooling division, having played a role in many of the companies’ Keynote projects. A St. Louis man through and through, Jim loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball, having shared many stories of traveling to Sportsman’s Park with his brothers in his formative years. He was present when Stan Musial hit four home runs in a double header.
While he loved Cardinals baseball; his true sports passion was for the St. Louis Blues. An inaugural fan since 1967, in the winter he was rarely seen without a Blues Jacket. He instilled in all his family a love and passion not only for the Blues but the game of hockey as well. He made sure they all knew when the game was on. And he treasured attending games with his son, Greg.
In his youth Jim was an avid bowler, having bowled several 300 games. Jim and Linda were both avid dancers, particularly fond of ballroom dancing. Later in life, Jim enjoyed meticulously caring for his property, maintaining a perfect lawn. Jim enjoyed having Vince out to help him with the lawn/property and fix all the stuff that broke. I think he just wanted to spend time with him. He was really proud of Vince and Jeff’s deck they built by the pool. He also found enjoyment and peace, fishing with his Son, Greg at the Lake of the Ozarks.
However, his greatest enjoyment was cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Jim was dearly loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
