Jo Ellen Carnes

Jo Ellen Carnes (nee Brown), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the age of 69. Daughter of the late Roy and Edith Brown. Devoted mother of Brandy (Andy) Hutchings, Ginger (Brian) McClenahan, Beau (Tasha) Baker and the late Richard Andrew "Andy" Baker; loving grandmother of Emminence (Nick) Lane, Devin (Janie) Edwards, Alyssa Hutchings, and Miles McClenahan; great-grandmother of Fox Edwards and Maisie Edwards; dear sister of Jane (Phil) Albright, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Preceded in death by two sisters, Patty Decker and Lynn Appleton. 

Jo was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a transcriptionist before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, sewing and mending, gardening, and bird watching. She had a strong faith, constantly in prayer and loved attending church at Zion Lutheran Church of Harvester, where she was a member. Jo was a great encourager, always surrounding those in her family and community with love and support. Outside of her personal relationship with Jesus Christ, her family was the most important aspect of her life. She was a beacon of strength and courage to her family.
