Jo Schnare

Jo Ellen Schnare (nee Morgan) of St. Charles, Missouri, died July 12, 2024, at the age of 84. Loving daughter of the late Melbourne and Gladys Morgan, she is survived by her husband Melvin Schnare, daughter Mary Ann (Lawrence) Brett, sons Steven (Melissa) Schnare and Patrick (Alicia) Schnare, grandchildren Connor (Bethany) Brett, Brandon Brett, Morgan (Nick) Hancock, Blake Schnare, Zachary Schnare and Alexandra Schnare, and great grandson Beckham Brett.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Mary Lou, Gary and Richard Morgan, and Sue Neville.

Jo worked at McDonnell Aircraft Co. before moving to Germany where her husband was stationed with the U.S. Army. She returned to St. Charles to raise her family and was the secretary at First Baptist Church of St. Charles and Mid-Rivers Baptist Chapel for more than 30 years.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Jo loved spending time with her family most of all. She also enjoyed traveling – especially to the beach, gardening, sewing, crafting, doing yard work, cooking and baking, hosting family and friends for holidays, going to Cardinals baseball and Mizzou football games, cheering and supporting her grandchildren at their sporting events, going shopping and out to lunch with dear friends Bobbi and Elaine, and relaxing in her backyard with a cup of coffee among her beautiful flowers. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Jo’s name to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
