Joan Ames

Joan Ames of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ames; her parents, Fletcher and Ruth Bowker; and her brother, George.

Joan is survived by her children, Kirk (Racheal) Ames, David (Katie) Ames, and Amber (Rob) Copley; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, Jacob, Autumn, Lennon, and Harper; and her sisters, Judy, and Ruth.

Joan was a very giving person who was generous with her time and possessions. She was always there for people when they needed her the most. There was a special place in Joan’s heart for music and she shared this love with her entire family through her singing and skill on the acoustic guitar. She was an amazing baker whose pies were her family’s favorite and she could always be counted on to bring many pans of her fantastic cookies to holiday gatherings.

Joan was fond of travel and had great memories of road trips she took with John in their earlier years. Together, they were always adventuring and stopping at many roadside attractions while John was in the military. Above everything, Joan loved her family – especially her grandchildren who she spoiled every chance she got. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
