Joan G. Briscoe

Joan Gay Briscoe (nee Foltz), of Saint Charles, MO, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, surrounded by family, at the Evelyn Hospice House at the age of 85. Loving wife of Judge Joe Briscoe; beloved daughter of the late Dr. Louis Michael and Pauline Hauser Foltz; beloved mother of Lou (Lisa) Briscoe, Valerie (Keith) Heien, Jim (Judy) Briscoe, and Debbie (Rob) Wood; cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn Briscoe, Benjamin Briscoe, Adam Briscoe, Andrew Heien, Matthew (Mackenzie) Heien, Kristine (Paul) Luebbers, Samuel Briscoe, Ryan Briscoe, Rachel Briscoe, Kelsey (Sean) Anderson, and Rob Wood, IV; treasured great-grandmother of Blaire Heien, Marshall Heien, Hailey Heien, and Charlotte Luebbers; dear sister of Leslie (Frank) Masterson; and preceded in death by her sister, Jeanne (Marty) Blacker. She was a dear aunt & friend to many. 

Joan grew up in the Louisville, KY area, attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from St. Louis University, where she met her husband, Joe, of 64 years. She initiated the physical therapy program at the Emmaus Home in St. Charles and was a dedicated therapist for over 20 years.

Joan was a past president and devoted member of Friends of Birthright and faithful parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Bogey Hills Country Club. She loved playing games & friendly competition with friends and family, and was especially passionate about tennis, golf and bridge.

Above all, she loved spending time with her family. whether it was attending a sporting event involving her children or grandchildren or planning the bi-annual family reunions or family Christmas games, her greatest joy was her family. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Joan's name to Birthright of St. Charles or St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Charles Borromeo Parish.
