Joe “Dean” Hood

Joe “Dean” Hood, of Bridgeton, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the age of 87. Loving husband of over 19 years to Aizhen Yang – Hood; beloved son of the late Fenton Leroy and Thela Ruth Hood; devoted father of Teresa (Charlie) DeGuire, Jo-Anna (John) Moscati, and Yi Ding (Yang Liu); father-in-law of  Mary Hood; cherished grandfather of Jacob (Kelly) Hood, Abagail (Brendan) Gamache, Jonathan (Liz) Lambert, Arielle (Bobby) Strickland, Johnny Moscati, Katie Moscati, Alek Ding, Alan Ding, and Zola Ding; treasured great-grandfather of Hawke Hood; dear brother of Porter Gene Hood; uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Dean is also preceded in death by his son, Michael Hood and brother, Raymond Hood.

Dean was a proud member of the United States Navy. He dedicated many years at McDonnell Douglas and the St. Louis Automotive Auction and after retiring in the 1990’s, he spent his time volunteering at South Carolina Medical University Hospital in Charleston and St. Joseph Hospital. In his free time, Dean enjoyed woodworking, traveling, listening to gospel music, fishing, and spending time with his family. Dean was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Dean's name to SSM Foundation-St. Joseph's Hospital.
