It was April 7, 2009. Surrounded by his wife and family. God chose to let his son, John Gittemeier, Sr., come home. Today, John Gittemeier lost his fight with Parkinson's disease. John is surrounded by his loving wife, Roberta "Bobbie"; loving son, John Jr.; and five cherished daughters; Denise, Linda, Kathy, Rose, and Karen, along with their spouses and his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A wonderful husband and loving father, he spoke softly and was an honorable man, both in words and in deeds. John believed actions spoke louder than words and wasn't afraid to lead by example. John worked hard his entire life providing for his family. He was a lifetime member of Carpenter's Local 417. He worked hard and played harder. The true loves of his life were his wife, Roberta, his farm, and his loving family. Also surviving are several cherished nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
