John F. “Fred” Hansen, of Wright City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the age of 70. Loving husband of 34 years to Bertha Hansen; beloved son of the late John Emmanuel and Virginia Hansen; devoted father of Christine L. (Andy) Howard; treasured grandfather of Crystaldawn, Andrealynn, Andy Jr., John, and Angela; treasured great-grandfather of Alexandrea, Mariaha, Laiden, Josiah, Nyra, Joshua, Jase, and Evan; dear brother of William (Cindy) Hansen, Richard Hansen, Patricia (Gene) Estes, Susan Goforth, and the late Jimmy Hansen. John is also survived by his first wife, June Moenster.
Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines as a sharp shooter during the Vietnam War. He was a former member of VFW #3944 in Overland, MO. He retired after more than 25 years in the air freight industry as an operations manager at EMO Transportation and Emery Air Freight.
Fred enjoyed woodworking, painting, karate, playing accordion, and piano. He loved watching M.A.S.H. and movies with his granddaughter. He cherished spending time with his family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
