John Giannakis

Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Foundation, Veterans Associations or Alzheimer's Association. Giannakis, Sr., John, of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the age of 87. Dear son of the late Setaphim and Hotopoula Giannakis. Dearest husband of the late Catherine Giannakis; loving father of John S. (Christine) Giannakis, Patricia G. (Dale, Jr.) Manies and Nicholas S. (Sandra) Giannakis; beloved grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 8; he is preceded in death by his brother, Steven Giannakis and sister, Helen Litos. Mr. Giannakis was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Sub. vets., veterans; he was a mechanic, enjoyed golf, camping, traveling, Cardinals, and his family. Mr. Giannakis served in the US Navy during WWII, 1941-1947 and also served in the US Army 1949-1965.
