Birchen, John J., of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the age of 75. Loving husband of Elizabeth A. Birchen (nee: Kloepping) beloved son of the late John S. and Elma Birchen; devoted father of Samuel Birchen and Daniel Birchen; loving uncle and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his brother William Birchen, and sisters Dora Carson and Hilda Birchen.
John worked as an installer and repairman for ConTel telephone company for 35 years, and worked for the Fort Zumwalt School District as a custodian for 15 years. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ for 42 years. John was also a member of O'Fallon's Lions Club, Daniel Boone Shriners Club and a volunteer at O'Fallon's fire department for 27 years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
