John J. Zoellner, of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away at the age of 86 on Tuesday May 16, 2017. Beloved husband of 63 years to Dorothy Zoellner. Devoted father of John J. (Sharon) Zoellner, Jr., Patricia Crossen, James (Madonna) Zoellner, Mary Zoellner, and Stephen Zoellner; loving grandfather of Shelley Crossen, Tina (Jeff) Simmons, Michelle (Dennis) Henry, Melissa (Jason) Davis, James (Jennifer) Zoellner, and Jessica (Scott) Standiford; treasured great-grandfather of eight. Dear brother of Richard (Lynn) Zoellner and Gerard (Connie) Zoellner. John is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Margaret Zoellner and siblings, Mary Gibbs, Joseph Zoellner, and Bernard Zoellner.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a telephone engineer for Southwestern Bell for many years. He was also a longtime parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church. In his free time, he enjoyed bird watching, gardening, puzzles, and spending time with his wonderful family. John will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
