Joe married the love of his life, Carol, on June 17, 1978. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this Sunday. Joe started as a volunteer for the Hazelwood Fire Department when Hazelwood was just a village. He worked his way through the ranks and retired as Fire Chief, serving in that position for 18 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, playing cards with his family and in his younger years playing baseball. Joe was a joy to be around, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
