John L. Sneed

Memorials may be given to Parkinson's Research or VFW Post #5077. Beloved husband of Myrle B. Sneed (nee: Bell); dear father and father-in-law of Rev. John T. (Aleta), Sarah L. and Robert W. Sneed, Linda M. Brower (Tom), William A. (Charlotte), and Paul R. (Joyce) Sneed ; proud grandfather of Billy, Angie, Ashley, David, Clayton, Stephen, Hannah, Jason, Adam & Rianna; great-grandfather of Brendan & Sean . Preceded in death by parents, John Emory and Martha Magdelene Sneed; brother, Ashley Sexton; sisters, Billie Brystowski and Lib Snyder. Mr. Sneed was a member of VFW Post #5077 in O'Fallon. He served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 and entered the United States Air Force in January 1947, serving the major portion of his career as an organizational supply specialist. He served overseas tours of duty in the Pacific, Alaska, Japan and France. He retired from the Air Force in 1964 after serving twenty plus years. After retirement he worked for St. Regis Paper Co. in O'Fallon, MO.
