John Lee Vogel

John Lee Vogel, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at the age of 79. Son of John G. and Dolores Vogel; beloved husband to Mary Vogel; devoted father of John P. (Stephanie) Vogel, Jim (The late Kim) Vogel, and Rebecca (Kurtis) Elders; cherished grandfather of Mac, Megan, Emily, Katelin, and Patrick with a great grandchild on the way; dear brother to Mary Ann (The late Rich) Batista, Debbie (George), Steve (Nikki) Vogel, and Donna. John was an uncle, cousin and friend to many.

John was a man of great faith which he and his wife instilled to his children. He was a devoted member of Assumption Catholic Church. John dedicated over 30 years as a meteorologist and helped establish the training center for the National Weather Service in Kansas City. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in O’Fallon where he served as a Grand Knight and cherished the many friendships he had there. In his free time, John enjoyed playing cards, photography and travelling. He was an avid Cardinal’s fan and liked to play fantasy baseball. Overall, family was very important to John. He was a loving husband, a very supportive father, and a proud grandfather. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in John's name to Knights of Columbus or Assumption Catholic Church.
