Potts Sample in New Orleans, La. His loving parents preceded him in death. Mr. Sample attended elementary school in New Orleans and graduated from St. Francis High School in New Orleans in 1946. He an engineering degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1950 where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He received his masters degree in electrical engineering from the University in 1956. He retired from Hunter Engineering in St. Louis in 1992 after a 26-year career with the company. Mr. Sample was an active member of Engineers Expo Club in St. Louis where he served as secretary and president. He was also a member of the St. Charles Rotary Club, St. Louis Exchange Club and Knights of Columbus, Council 312. Mr. Sample was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling and photography. Mr. Sample is survived by his dear wife, Regina Meyer Sample of St. Charles, Mo. They were married at St. Peter Church in St. Charles June 7, 1955. He is also survived by three loving children: Donald Sample of St. Charles; Mrs. Raymond (Christina) Talbot of St. Louis; and Joanna Sample of Wildwood; two brothers: Christopher and Warren Sample, both of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Roger (Janis) Rabbit of Billings, Mont.; and six and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Sample. Regina, the children and other family members remember John with one of his favorite prayers
