John Sandy Mazzulla, Jr.

John S. Mazzulla, Jr. entered into life on January 10, 1953, in Denver, CO. He was baptized March 1, 1953 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. John was a proud native of Colorado and had a passion for his North Denver roots. However, his love for warm weather would ultimately lead him to sun soaked locations in California, Arizona, Hawaii, and finally Missouri.

John was an avid sports fan with an enthusiasm and zest for his hometown teams. His appreciation for all foods certainly brought out his inner epicurean, and his well roundedness even included an affection for all things music, especially the guitar. John shared his love of music with others and during the 2020 quarantine, John made video recordings of his songs to send to family and friends across the states so he could stay connected and cheer everyone up. No matter where John went, business or pleasure, John was bigger than life and everyone around him was entertained.

His professional career centered around his commitment to JD Edwards software, and he worked as a software consultant for illustrious firms including Deloitte and Touche, Dole Foods, Westfield Properties, DSSI, and the Denver based company, MSS. Because John travelled often, he left his mark wherever he went and was known for his professionalism and vibrant personality. He worked hard and played hard so some of his best hours were spent on the golf course and hanging out in Newport Beach with his friends. He was known as a master in trivia, and everyone wanted John on their team.

John’s catholic faith was a big part of his life and Linda joined that faith with him in a convalidation ceremony June 23, 2017. His Christian friends at St. Jude Church in Makakilo, HI and at Immaculate Conception in Dardenne Prairie have been important to him and Linda in their faith journey.

John entered into eternal rest on September 19, 2021. He is preceded in death by John Sr. & Frances Mazzulla (father and mother), and is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Dawna (Matt Karasik), Susan Mazzulla (sister), Chadd & Nickie Mazzulla (nephew), Jinnell Uribe & Jimmy McChesney (niece), and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He would want us to also remember his best dog friend, Wendy, who sat at his side and followed him wherever he went.

One of John and Linda’s favorite charities is “Catholic Relief Services” so you can honor his memory by helping the needy around the world.
