John L. Scherffius

John L. Scherffius, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the age of 86. Cherished son of the late John and Mildred Scherffius; devoted father of Darlene (Charles) Cecil, James (Kady) Scherffius and the late Johnny Scherffius; loving grandfather of Amy (JT) Young, Joshua (Mariah) Arnott, Zachary Arnott, Jesse Scherffius and Max Scherffius; great-grandfather of Boston Young, Oakley Young, Kaldi Young and Mya Belle Arnott; Dear brother of Mary (Tom) McFadden. John was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Zaluga, and his brother, Edward Scherffius. John was a cousin, uncle and friend to many.  

John proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time and supporting his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In his free time, John loved watching western movies and wrestling. He was a good cook and never turned down a good meal with family or friends. John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
