John R. Stack

John R. Stack, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the age of 99. Devoted husband of the late Velma Viola (nee DeRoy) Stack, for 63 years. Adored son of the late Virginia Lee Brasher (nee Frank) and James Roscoe Brasher.

Cherished father of June (Dan) Hennessey, John R. Stack, Jr., (deceased), James Stack and Judy (Tom) Koenig. John was the loving grandfather of Daniel (Cindy) Hennessey, Kelley Hennessey, Laurie (Jeff) Harter, Michael (Nikki) Hennessey, Erin Hennessey (Jake White), Christine (Vincent) DeMarco, Jim (Jane) Stack, Barbara Jean Stack, Jason (Ellie) Koenig and Jessica (Andrew Mack), Koenig. Great grandfather of 34 and Great-great grandfather of 18.

Dearest brother of the late Virginia (Emil) Poeppelemeir and Marilyn Freise; dear father-in-law, uncle, brother-in-law and friend to so many. A proud member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers 837, he retired from McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing), as a ramp and flight line mechanic after 36 years, his last project being the Harrier. This was a career he truly loved and where he met so many lifelong friends

John was a kind, loving, accepting, and hardworking man that never met a stranger and found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a great love of the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, gardening, or just sitting on the patio in the sun (smoking his pipe), the outdoors was truly his happy place! He was so deeply and dearly loved and will be profoundly missed.
