Born April 27, 1944, eldest son the late Jeanne Gertken (nee: Yeager) and John Anthony Gertken, Sr., and son-in-law of the late Louis C. and Gertrude Lay. Loving husband of 41 years to Jo-Ann; dear father of John An-thony Jack Gertken III (Mary) of Gaston, SC, Vicki Gertken-Tunstall (Dan) of Monee, IL and Christopher Louis Gertken (Elisa) of Gaston, SC; beloved grandfather to Allison and Jake Tunstall and Thomas A. Gertken; dear brother to Jeanne Brady of Olathe, KS, William M. Gertken (Kathy) of Foristell, MO, Joseph K. Gertken (Kathy) of St. Louis, MO, James P. Gertken, DDS (Pamela) of Hutchinson, KS, G. Michael Gertken (Nikki) of St. Louis, MO and the late Thomas G. Gertken of St. Louis, MO; dear father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin, nephew, step-grandfather, step-great grandfather, godfather and friend. Mr. Gertken was a 1962 graduate of Christian Brothers College Military Institute in St. Louis. Tony served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and attended the U.S. Naval Academy at Marquette University in Wisconsin. Mr. Gertken was a 40-plus year business professional known internationally for his expertise in the sale, design and engineering of conveyor and automated material handling systems. He recently graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Cum Laude, with a degree in Geography. A man of great faith, Tony was a Professed Member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Also a man of great mirth, Tony loved life and was loved by others
he touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
