John "Jack" Young, of St. Charles, Missouri, died peacefully at home, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the age of 88. Jack was born November 8, 1920, in St. Charles to John and Julia (nee: Beckman) Young. Dear husband of the late Ruth Young; special friend of Judy Teeter; cherished father of Christine "Chris" (John) Angleton and Tom (Nancy Sue) Young; treasured grandfather of Shawn, Shannon, Tatum and Mica and great-grandfather of Tim, Luke, Alexandra, Ronnie and Kierra. Jack is proceeded in death by his brothers George Korte and Clyde Young and sisters Betty Dalton, Lorraine Winkle, and Helen Gentmann. Jack grew up in St. Charles and graduated from St. Charles High School and attended Tempe State University. He proudly served in the Air Force during World War II and after retiring he was a Superintendent at McDonnell Douglas fro 42 years. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 312, member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and was inducted into the St. Charles Sports Hall of Fame.
