Joseph J. McAtee

Joseph J. McAtee, of High Ridge, MO, passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Freeman and Christine McAtee; his grandchildren, Travis (Marina) Freeman, Justin  (Amy) Freeman, Timothy Vaughn, Jayson  (Erin) Vaughn, and Joshua (Katie) Vaughn; his eight great-grandchildren; and his best friend to the end, Viola McAtee.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mae Belle McAtee.

Joseph enjoyed going to garage sales and being out on his boat which he affectionately called his, “puddle jumper.” When he was younger, Joseph spent hours raising a large variety of roses, riding his Honda off roads, and connecting with nature. He loved mostly spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions in Joseph’s name may be made to the Missouri Council for the Blind. Joseph became blind in 2008 and they helped him, the family wishes to pay it forward.
