Joseph G. Brown II of Saint Charles, MO passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 56 wonderful years to Helen Brown and cherished son of the late Joseph G. and Elsie W. Brown. Devoted father to Joseph G. Brown IV and Angie (Doug) Smith; loving grandpa of Matt (Claire Wright) Smith, Deborah (Marty) Albers, and Mikey Smith; treasured great-grandpa to Brandi Albers and Tucker Albers; dear brother of Bernice (Doug) Brock; brother-in-law of Raymond Mauer, Jr.; uncle, cousin and friend to many.
He proudly served in the United States Navy, and following that he dedicated his life to the pursuit of excellence in the auto parts industry. He went on to own and transform five auto parts stores into thriving and profitable businesses. This doesn't mean that he was all work and no play. Joe loved to travel, ski, swim, dance, and enjoyed fine dining. He had an immense passion for swing dancing. He became quite accomplished at it and loved to be able to share that passion with the many couples that he taught. He may have been competitive with dancing earlier in his life (he even won a few trophies!), but it became something else for him later. It became a way for him to connect with his girls. He looked forward to every week, because that was time spent with his daughter and granddaughter. He had many names. He was known by Papa Joe, Uptown, Uncle Joe, Joe, Joey to the elders in his family, Dad, Grandpa, and PopPop. He had an outgoing and friendly personality. Laughter coursed through his soul and he loved to play tricks on his children and grandchildren. He valued family above all else. Spending time with his family to make precious memories or to teach valuable life lessons was everything that was important to him. Joe was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Joe’s name to Backstoppers or to American Cancer Society.
