Joseph Patrick Murphy

July 26, 1977 — February 4, 2023

St. Peters, Missouri

Joseph Patrick Murphy, of St. Peters, MO, has gone to his heavenly home February 4, 2023.

Beloved son of Patrick and Robin Murphy. Brother of Jason (Erin) Murphy, and Mary Murphy. Nephew of Mark (Carol) Murphy, Paul Murphy, John (Robin) Murphy, Craig (Judy) Lami, Carol Sue Lami. Uncle of Danika Murphy and preceded in death by his nephew Brayden Hood and his uncle David Murphy.

Joe's family was very important to him, especially spending quality time together. Joe had a great love of the outdoors, from biking at Creve Coeur Lake to fishing in Branson with family. Fishing, bicycle riding, walking in local parks, and camping always gave Joe inner peace.

He loved all animals, especially his family's cattery and his rabbit, Alice. Joe had the comedic timing and confidence of a stand-up comedian. Joe had abundant physical strength and his intimidating size came in handy when his tribe was threatened. However, if you cried, Joe would cry with you and help you find inner happiness. If you had low self-worth, Joe would give you everything he had to offer until you knew how much he loved you and are worth everything in his world. Joe's empathy was unmatched and always will sincerely care about you, even in spirit, Joe is the most amazing friend anyone could ask for.

Joe made many lasting friends through Lewis and Clark Technical School and Vatterott HVAC Technical Training Program. His work family at Lee Spring meant the world to him.

Joe fell in love with the drums as a teenager and was a phenomenal performer who played semi-professionally. Through his music he became part of many bands and made some wonderful friends in the process.  His motivation for drumming is fueled by the smiles and joy of family and friends watching and listening to “Smokin Joe” play.  His quick, goofy, smart humor was effortless, heartfelt, and brought everyone together. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his friends and family. “Keep on rockin!”

Memorials may be made in Joseph's name to Five Acres Animal Shelter.
