Joseph Walter Wood, of Bridgeton, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the age of 85. Loving husband of Marlene Wood; beloved son of the late Lester and Emma (Roth) Wood; devoted father of Deborah Wood, Susan Chandler, and Christine (the late Steven) Ketchel; cherished grandfather of Ryan (fiancé Lindsay Broad) Chandler, and Katie (Andrew) Strawbridge; treasured great-grandfather of Nicholas Strawbridge; dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Joe served in the Army in Germany for two years before going to work as a lineman for Union Electric in St. Louis for almost 40 years. He loved donuts, the outdoors, taking his girls out to breakfast, and tinkering with his tools and fishing equipment. He had a huge sense of humor, loved to laugh and was a great story teller. He dearly loved his family and was happy to be surrounded by them. He was the best Dad ever.
