It is with great earthly sadness, and simultaneous heavenly celebration, that we announce the passing of Joyce Arlene Eddington of Saint Charles, MO, at the age of 93. Joyce was the loving wife of Russell Harrison Eddington for 64 years, and was reunited with him in Christ on December 30th, 2020.
Joyce was first and foremost a Christian. The titles that came a very dear second to her were, wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Joyce was the beloved sister of five siblings, Doris, Carl, Marie, Roger, and Perky. She was also the devoted mother of Sherry (Ron) Mitchell, the late Terry (survived by Joy) Eddington. The cherished grandmother of Kimberly Mitchell, Christina (Michael) Miller, and Darren (Krista) Eddington. Joyce was also the great-grandmother of Isaac, Macy, Ethan, and Andrew, all of whom she loved dearly.
Joyce was the daughter of Julius and Suzzie Sellenschuetter, of Saint Charles, MO. They started First assembly of God St. Charles in their home 9 decades ago, that grew to obtain its own building, and continues to grow many men and women of God. This was the church of which Joyce was an active member and showed her love for God, and His calling on her life, by playing the organ, violin, teaching Sunday school to countless children, singing in the choir, and many more places she could fill in to advance God’s kingdom in any way she could.
Joyce’s greatest joy’s in her life were serving her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, raising and nurturing her family, and fiercely loving and praying for each family member daily. Joyce will be greatly missed, and the vacuum her passing has created will be the telling power of her impact on this earth and her family and friends.
Joyce’s greatest desire was to see everyone come to know Jesus. In honoring this Christ-centered goal, please make any memorial donations to Convoy of Hope.
