Joyce Elaine Anderson

Memorial contributions may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center. Joyce Elaine Anderson, age 55 was born on July 30, 1950 to the union of William C. Shelton and Lottie M. (Kemp) Shelton. She graduated highschool in 1968 then began her career in the insurance industry with Prudential. She continued in insurance for 35 years until her retirement after becoming ill. On May 5, 1973 she was joined in holy matrimony to Glenn Anderson. To this union was born her only child, Kelle (Anderson) Sutherlin. From a child she was a member of St. John AME Church in St. Charles, Missouri. In 1990, she re-affirmed her faith and became an active member in her church. She served as a trustee, a steward and was a member of the choir. In 2001 she became a founding member of Holy Trinity Community Church under the pastorship of Rev. Ella M. Jones. And in continuing her service to the Lord, she became a founding member of Calvary AME Mission in 2004. She served as a trustee and missionary vice president where she remained faithful until her passing. Joyce Elaine Anderson, 55, loving mother, aunt, cousin and friend departed this life August 15, 2005 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Joyce leaves to mourn one daughter, Kelle Danette (Anderson) Sutherlin (Craig Sutherlin), two grandchildren, Jordan Larue Sutherlin and Natalie Elaine Sutherlin, two sisters, Latricia Shelton and Denise Shelton and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
