Joyce Mae (Schnaare) Oberdieck, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2020. She was 74 years old. She is survived by her husband Dennis Oberdieck just days shy of their 55th wedding anniversary, her loving four daughters: Rebecca (Mark) Dalton, Melissa (Jeffrey) Lambing, Amy (Andrew) Vohs, and Tammy (Christopher) Hempen, six grandchildren: Samantha Dalton, Elizabeth Dalton, Jack Lambing, Theodore Vohs, Emmett Vohs, Mackenzie Hempen, her nephew Dean Mitts, and one crazy schnauzer Sophie.
Joyce was world-renowned for her amazing desserts, deep faith in God, positive attitude and always surprising one-liners. She loved the simple beauty in life and enjoyed being surrounded by flowers with daisies as her favorite. She always could find the silver lining in any situation and never saw the need to dwell on the past unless she was recounting her husband’s driving through mountain roads. Those memories seemed to stick around.
Joyce was a retired executive assistant from Lucent Technologies.
Joyce is preceded in death by her father Victor Schnaare, mother Edna Schnaare, and sister Marcella Mitts.
The family has requested donations to be directed to
the American Parkinson Disease Association “in memory” or to
Peace Lutheran Church as she was a founding member and very active.
