Joyce Marie Lauer

Joyce Marie Lauer (nee Eberlin) of Saint Charles, MO, passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2018 at the age of 87. Loving wife of the late Gilbert R. Lauer; devoted mother of Mary (and the late Keith) Fairley, Chris (Heather) Lauer, and Michael (Kelly) Lauer; cherished grandmother of Katie (Ryan) Tucker, Michael Fairley, Mariah, Brenden, and Krystal Lauer, Abbey and Drew Lauer. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Louise Eberlin and her brother Eugene Eberlin, Jr.

Joyce graduated from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing with her R.N. degree in 1950. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Louis County Hospital for 5 years, Dr. Van’s office in Montgomery City, MO for three years, and then St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles for 15 years before retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Charles Presbyterian Church since 1964 serving as a Deacon and Elder. At church, Joyce also volunteered with Vacation Bible School and many other luncheon and church activities. She also was a member of PEO Chapter JY- Missouri State and the Nursing Association -Volunteers in Medicine for 17 years. Joyce loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and watching all the different programs and sports activities of which they participated. She also belonged to many bridge clubs in the area and traveled with friends to many places in the US and Europe. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
