Juanita M. Hummel of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at the age of 97. Loving wife of the late Parl C. Hummel, II; cherished daughter of the late Roy Burton and Edna Louisa Day (nee Wommack); beloved mother of Parl C. Hummel III and Ricky Hummel; and dear grandmother of Nicholas Hummel, Elizabeth Hummel, Daniel Hummel, Jonathan Hummel, and Julia Hummel. Juanita was also preceded in death by her siblings, Thelma Lou (Howard) Cruise, Glen (Roselie – nee Yarbrough) Day, Ruby Ellen (JC) Conkin, Madlyn Gleam (John) Dabney.
Juanita retired after more than 20 years with the U.S. Army Records Center in St. Louis, MO. She was very interested in the Bible and her faith. She taught bible study classes at church and the interpretation of dreams on a biblical level. She also liked to read religious articles, and watch Oral Roberts, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyers.
Juanita liked to stay in contact with her family regularly on the phone. In her younger years, she liked to travel with her family to visit relatives. She was a caring mother and made sure she was able to send her sons to college for a good education.
In her spare time, Juanita enjoyed going to the Senior Center for a meal, visiting with friends, and using the fitness center. She was also an avid baseball fan and looked forward to attending the River City Rascals games.
Juanita was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
