Judy S. Gamblin

June 2, 1944 — March 15, 2025

O'Fallon, Missouri

Judy Sharon Gamblin (nee Payne), of O'Fallon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the age of 80. Loving wife of Daniel Joseph Gamblin; beloved daughter of the late Elsie Swanke and foster-daughter of Herbert and Myrtle Clark; devoted mother of Debra Maria (Doug) Morris, and Julie Ann (Edward) Fingers; cherished grandmother of Sarah (Alex) Marey, Kevin Morris, Hunter Tosto, and Kaiden Tosto; dear sister of Gary Blankenship and Emily Gorsch; and treasured aunt to several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her brother, Jim Blankenship.

Judy was a devoted Registered Nurse who dedicated 36 years to caring for others as an OBGYN nurse at Barnes Hospital, where she pioneered one of the first fetal monitoring programs in the country and was the first to pass the national ambulatory women's healthcare nursing certification exam within the Washington University Barnes Hospital complex. A cherished member of Sunrise Methodist Church, she found joy in traveling—especially to Alaska—and preserving memories through scrapbooking. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and friends. Known for her kindness and warmth, Judy was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Judy's name to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
