June R. Schutte

June R. Schutte, of O'Fallon, MO, passed December 14, 2013, at the age of 91 as a result of complications from Alzheimer's. She is now in the beloved arms of her husband, soul-mate, and best friend Harold, who passed away in 2004, Mother of David M., Gail L., and Gregg S. (Kathy); grandmother of Diana Catherine (Gregory) Weir, Denise (Ralph) Stamp, Stacey (Bruce) Eikmann, and Dale (Heidi) Scanlon; great-grandmother of Ethan Weir and Jessica, Alexandra, and Sydney Eilmann; dear aunt, neighbor, and friend.
June loved playing golf with her family, was a terrific cook, loved to entertain during the holidays and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for Edison Brothers Shoes in the mid 60's until she retired in 1987. She spent most of her retired years keeping house, and taking care of her family, which was a job in itself. She was a very strong woman having survived cancer and several other health setbacks after Harold's death, but she always came back with a smile and a determination to live her life to the fullest. In 2009, she moved to Chestnut Terrace, an Assisted Living Facility. Her condition started to decline, and in March of 2012 she was moved to Delmar Gardens of O'Fallon where she remained until her death.
We would like to thank the staff at Chestnut Terrace and Delmar Gardens for the care they gave to her and to Pathways Hospice who helped her in her final days. It is a true calling for these professional people and we will always be grateful to them in our time of need.
As per June's wishes, there will be no visitation. Interment will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, Christ the King Mission Chapel at Suite 119, 3910 Old Highway 94 South, St. Charles MO 63304, or charity of your choice.
