Karen Marie Gustavson

Karen Marie Gustavson (nee Hooton), of Overland, MO, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the age of 70. Beloved wife of Thomas Gustavson; cherished daughter of the late William and Corrine Hooton; devoted mother of Ryan Elking and Stephanie (Charlie) Kell; stepmother of Diane (Chris) Devore and Jennifer (Jeff) Shoultz; loving grandmother of Sierra, Brody, Gavin, Liam, Josh, Alex, Sam, and Zoey; dear sister of Steve (Alice) Hooton and Janice (Danny) Bishop.

Born on June 14, 1954, Karen brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. Karen loved exploring the zoo, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and tending to her beautiful garden. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother (Nana), and her love for her grandchildren was boundless.

Karen’s infectious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room. She was a kind and generous soul, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends.

We know that Karen is watching over us from above, her spirit forever guiding and inspiring us.
