Karen Elizabeth Kirkwood

Karen Elizabeth Kirkwood (nee Dietrich), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the age of 58. Beloved wife of Brian Tredway; cherished daughter of Dr. Martin Walter Dietrich and the late Barbara Mildred Dietrich; devoted mother of Tyler Martin (Skye) Kirkwood and the late Derek Andrew Kirkwood; dear sister of Bill (Jessica) Dietrich and Suzanne (Ted) Barrall; loving aunt of Lorna Barrall, Emma Barrall, Grace Moffitt Dietrich, Sutter Dietrich, and Lilly Dietrich; precious niece of Richard (Joanne) Kimerle and Linda (Thomas) Stewart; cousin and friend to many. 

Karen had a remarkable career as the Director of IT at UMSL and later went on to become the Senior Consultant reporting to the CFO. She was a devoted former Girl Scout member with an adventurous spirit that led her to explore numerous countries, including Europe, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and Canada. Her passion for Disney resulted in multiple visits to Disney World, and she showcased her artistic talent by creating a collection of remarkable paintings. Karen's exquisite gardens were a testament to her skill as an avid gardener. Her warm-hearted nature touched the lives of many, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

Memorial donations may be made in Karen's name to Evelyn's House, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
