Karen Kelly Schooling, 69, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, she faced her illness with incredible strength and grace.

Karen was a devoted mother to Ryan, for 34 years, always putting his wants and needs above her own. She cared for him with selflessness and love, seeing it as a blessing to care for him. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, salsa dancing, watching television, and spending time with family and friends.

A lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Karen’s faith was a constant source of strength throughout her life. Even in the face of stage 4 cancer, diagnosed in March 2024, Karen remained calm and full of grace, living every moment with gratitude. Karen will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
