Karston Leppanen

October 12, 1997 — February 8, 2025

Karston Wye Leppanen passed away unexpectedly at the age of 27 while running a half marathon in Mesa, AZ, on Saturday, February 8, 2025. While this is the greatest of unfortunate tragedies, he was doing something he truly loved. While originally from Dardenne Prairie, MO, Karston lived a full and adventurous life. After completing their college education, Karston and Jenna spent the last three years traveling across the country, living in various states and embracing new experiences each year.

Karston graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, where he was also a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. He had a deep passion for graphic design, with a particular focus on logo creation and branding. Karston embraced his career as a freelance designer and a striving entrepreneur, dedicated to uncovering the deeper stories and meanings behind each design he created. His personal motto, 'Be Bold. Be Vibrant,' was not only how he branded himself but also how he lived his life, always seeking out new challenges with a creative and passionate spirit. He was driven to grow both personally and professionally, constantly eager to take on new projects and push the boundaries of his craft.

Karston was a radiant presence in the lives of those around him, known for his infectious smile, unwavering support, and inspirational spirit. He had a deep appreciation for staying active and pushing his limits, whether through running, working out, or striving to live a healthy lifestyle. A true forward-thinker, he was dedicated to self-improvement and lived life to the fullest, always encouraging those around him to do the same. Karston was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Karston was the beloved son of Kevin and Shari Leppanen; dear brother of Keaton Leppanen and Kaelene Leppanen; loving partner of Jenna Eisterhold; son-in-law of Doug and Karen Eisterhold; brother-in-law of Jace Eisterhold; and cherished grandson of Nicholas and the late Loretta Lemkemann and the late Clifford and Wanda Leppanen. He was a nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

Memorials may be made in Karston's name to the Humane Society of Missouri to help continued support for the Shelter Buddies Reading Program.

Karston had a passion for vlogging and shared his journey through The Daily Designer Vlog on Instagram @Karston_Lep. He approached every project with intention and always looked ahead with optimism.
