Kathleen Andrews Lindo

April 19, 1941 — May 27, 2016

Lindo, Kathleen, (nee: Andrews) of O’Fallon, MO, died on Friday, May 27, 2016, at the age of 75. Beloved daughter of the late John and Sallie Andrews; devoted mother of Michelle (Lee) Lewis; cherished grandmother of Arielle Lindo, Jhory Lewis, Paris Lewis, Tigh Lewis, Brittani (Walter) Clarkson, Taylor Lewis, Torri Lewis, Dunte Miller, and Brandon (Brittany) Young; treasured great grandmother of Ayvien Finch, Alishia Young, Jakai Lewis, and Jesslyn Lewis; and dear sister of Gladys Graham and Mary Ella Andrews. Kathleen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her son Bertram Lindo, Jr.; and siblings, Seabell Ingram, Gertrude Bradshaw, Minnie Camille Andrews, Johnny Andrews, Jr., Orabell Andrews, Willie James Andrews, Raymond Andrews, and Betty Jean Dempsey.




Kathleen proudly served her country in the U.S. Army for 37 years, and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. While serving in the Army, she achieved a Master’s Degree; was a member of the San Antonio Chapter of Chi Eta Phi; served in the Texas Army National Guard; served during Operation Desert Storm, in Saudi Arabia, as a RN; was the Women’s Veteran Coordinator for the VA hospital in San Antonio; and authored many directives for the care of women veterans.




She was a Christian woman, baptized as a young girl in Paterson, NJ. In her spare time, Kathleen enjoyed decorating and cleaning her home, shopping, cooking, dancing, and listening to music. Most of all, she loved to spend time and make memories with her family and friends. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
