Patton, Kenneth J., of Columbia, Missouri, and formerly a life long resident of O'Fallon, MO, died on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the age of 88. Dear husband the late Helen I. Patton (nee Merritt) (1924-2003), dear son of the late Richard C.(1893-1983) and Rose E. (Emge) Patton (1895-1979, loving father of Debbie (Patrick) Clarke, Stanley (Cindy) Patton, Colleen (Ron) Meyer, Mary (Herbert) Iffrig, Jr., and James Michael Patton; loving grandfather of Jason, Meaghan, Cari, Stephen, Kristen, Jessica, Katie, David, Nicholas, Ted & Lauren, dearest great-grandfather of Lily, Helen, Julianna, Toryn, Madelyn and Raegan; loving brother of Jean (Edgar "Smiley") Zerr, Grace Belleville, Pat (Amos) Button, LaVerne (Frank) Dames; Paul (Anna) Patton and the late Norbert Patton (1917-1925), Luke Patton (1919-2003), Dick Patton (1924-1994), Carl Patton (1928-1997), Harlan Patton (1943-1960), Dorothy Patton (1922-2005) and Virginia Patton (1926-2009. He was employed as an Auto Mechanic for Goodyear and retired after 20 years of service. Prior to Goodyear, he was in business with his uncle, Harvey Emge, at Emge Brake Company, St. Louis, MO till 1964. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Columbia, MO. Ken Patton was loved by everyone that met him and all soon became friends. He could fix anything and always did. He was the smartest Dad ever. His passions included geneology, gardening and cooking. He could do anything. His formal education ended at 8th grade but he was educated for 88 years. He shared his knowledge with all his family and all his friends. He dedicated his service to our country as a WWII Veteran, serving as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps between December 1942 and 1945.
