Kenneth Roy Lee Sr., a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, 47** Air Police Squadron, of O' Fallon, Missouri, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the age of 88. The son of Robert Edgar Lee and Annette Gertrude (nee Donaghue) Lee, Kenneth was born on Saturday, April 20, 1935, in Hood River, Oregon, as the youngest of 17 children.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Ann (nee Bach) Lee. He and his wife shared four children, Kenneth (Barb) Lee, Steven Lee, Lisa (Michael) Anderson, and Mark Lee; seven grandchildren, Heather Lee, Jordan (Jennifer) Lee, Takisha (Mark) Young, Charles (Kara) Long, Rachel Long, Jacob Lee and Tayler Lee; and ten great-grandchildren.
Kenneth attended Catholic school in Portland, Oregon, until he was sixteen when he moved to St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Riverview Gardens Senior High in North County. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted into the United States Air Force and was deployed and stationed at the Royal Air Force Sculthorpe military airbase in Fakenham, England. While in the military, Kenneth was a K-9 handler to an Alsatian named Misha. After 30 years of hard work and dedication, Kenneth retired as a mechanic from General Motors. He enjoyed building vehicles at work and spent most of his free time at home under a car.
Kenneth and Betty were neighbors in Riverview Gardens, Missouri, who fell in love and married on August 29, 1959. They are members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church located in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Together, Ken and Betty have shared many memories, from kissing the Blarney Stone in Cork, Ireland to exploring the ancient Mayan ruins throughout Mexico and Belize. They have taken train rides across the United States and set sail on many Cruises through Alaska and the Caribbeans. Kenneth Loved spending time with this family, traveling, camping, and fishing.
