Kirk Neal Hedeman, of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at the age of 65. He was a cherished son of the late John Kenneth Hedeman and Margaret Jane (Ruhwedel) Hedeman, and the dear brother of Bruce (and wife Amy) Hedeman.
Kirk found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in his love for fishing and traveling. Whether casting his line into a serene lake or exploring new destinations, Kirk delighted in the sense of freedom and adventure provided by these activities. Kirk was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues, never unaware of the latest scores, statistics, and standings.
With a B.S. degree from the University of Missouri in Horticulture, Kirk’s passion and life’s work revolved around his appreciation for beautiful trees, flowers, and plants. Early in his career, Kirk hosted a weekly radio show, bringing his extensive knowledge and deep love for landscaping to the citizens of St. Louis and surrounding areas. Kirk strove to preserve historic trees, most notably the large, gnarled, old oak tree at the Old Stone Bonhomme Church, and a large portion of the landscape at the Wiegand Studio property. His work and talent for landscape design continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to: The Wiegand Foundation, One Wiegand Drive, PO Box 3800 Chesterfield, MO 63006.
