Kristy Pender

Kristina S. “Kristy” (Wagner) Pender age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her home. Kristy was born April 13, 1978 in Alton, Illinois and was welcomed with open arms by her father, Chuck, the moment she passed.

From an early age Kristy was known as someone that would tell anyone what she was thinking regardless if it was good or bad. She focused on making others smile and laugh through her amazing personality. One of her gifts was making friends with everyone and making others feel special each and every day. She graduated from Orchard Farm High School in 1997 and continued her education at Sanford Brown College in Occupational Therapy. She’s currently employed at Jerseyville Community Hospital where she loved not only her job but those that she was able to work with and care for day in and day out.

Anyone that knew Kristy understood that her family was the most important thing in her life. On May 13, 2000 Kristy married the love her life Richard Pender at Trinity Lutheran Church and together they recently celebrated 18 years of their loving marriage. They were blessed with two amazing children who she greatly adored: Joshua Nelson and Katlynn Jeanice. Not only was she a loving wife and mother she was equally an amazing daughter to Vickie and Wally Wunderlich and the late Charles G. “Chuck” Wagner Jr.  She had a special bond with her brother, B. Chad Wagner and his wife Heather along with her nieces and nephews, Michael, Jillian, Trever, Jacob, Christopher, Tyler, Tommy and Claire. Kristy was blessed by her extended family including Tom and Chris Ehmler, Michelle and Terry Scott, TJ and Ashley Ehmler and the late Pat Ehmler. Additional survivors include her many uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends.

Following in her family's footsteps Kristy officially joined the Rivers Point Fire Protection District as a Firefighter over five years ago where she received multiple accolades for her heroic efforts. Her dedication to the West Alton and Portage De Sioux communities was unwavering and will be greatly missed by all that she knew and had the honor of serving with.

In honoring Kristy’s memory, a Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with the education expenses for Joshua and Katlynn (checks payable to Richard Pender).
